Summary: Just as the sun brings new life and energy to the sick and cattle, our conscious communion with the Lord allows us to leave behind despair and trust in Him. We can freely walk through fields of holy trust and feed on the joy that grows closer to heaven. Jesus promises that His sheep will go in and out and find pasture, so we should not remain prisoners but walk in His infinite love. We should not stay as spiritual babies but grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior. Let us open our hearts and expand in Him.
Yes, when the sun shines, the sick leave their rooms and walk outside to breathe fresh air. When the sun brings spring and summer, the cattle leave the stables, and seek pastures in the steepest Alps. Similarly, when we have conscious communion with our Lord , we leave the stable of despondency, and walk freely through the fields of holy trust. We ascend the mountains of joy, and feed on the sweet pasture that grows closer to heaven than the fodder of carnal men.
"They will come out" and "they will jump" is a double promise. O my soul, you must be eager to enjoy both blessings! Why should you be a prisoner? Get up and walk in freedom. Jesus says that His sheep will go in and out and find pasture; go out, then, and feed yourself in the rich meadows of infinite love.
Why have you stay a baby in grace? It grows. Calves grow fast, especially if they are fed in stables; and you enjoy the special care of your Redeemer. Grow, then, in grace, and in the knowledge of your Lord and Savior. Do not be narrow or limited in your growth. The Sun of Justice has risen for you. It responds to Its rays, as cocoons respond to the natural sun. Open your heart, expand and grow in everything in Him.
