Summary: We often act like Marta in the Bible, burdening ourselves with many things to please God. However, we need to remember that God has already blessed us and there is nothing we can do to please Him more than what Christ has already done. We need to seek God's guidance and not fall for false prophets or self-loving men. Our main mission is to preach the Gospel. Let us pray for guidance and trust in God to reveal His plans for us.
A few days ago someone reminded me of the passage where Jesus tells Marta: "Marta, Marta, you are troubled and troubled with many things." Lk 10.41-42. Many of us often act like Marta and the most dangerous thing is that, in most cases we drag our family with us. Without realizing it we become people who will never be satisfied with what they do for God, because we have set very high goals and we should keep a few things in mind:
God does not put burdens on us and we burdened ourselves to the point of being overwhelmed, wanting to do more and more things to please God, forgetting that there is nothing we can do to please him because everything was already done by our Lord Jesus and that God leaves us very clear in Eph 1.2-14
In other words, according to his word we are blessed, chosen, adopted, accepted, forgiven, heirs, partakers of his glory and sealed with the Holy Spirit. Oh! My brothers, who are so anxious and troubled, do we think there is more to be done? God had nothing left to give us, nothing we can do is greater than what we have already received.
When we want to know if something of what we are doing is a plan of God, let's just observe how it prospers, if it does not prosper, it is not a divine plan. We can fill ourselves with plans to serve God, but if we are not in God's plan, this is not going to work out. Sometimes God is yelling at us that He has better plans for us, but with so much work we cannot hear Him.
If only we would take time to pray and listen, He would guide us, because that is precisely what He wants, that we seek His guidance.
Some churches today are plagued with false prophets and self-loving men who want glory for themselves. We cannot fall for that, we must be humble as He was. Many times these same people serve as stumbling blocks, but they have not done anything to us that they have not done to Him, they did much worse things to Him and He did not resist, we are not beings of contention, we are here to Pray for the imperfect brothers that we have and God is the one who will put everything in its place Heb 10.30 “Well, we know the one who said: Vengeance is mine, I will pay, says the Lord. And again: The Lord will judge his people "
Do not be troubled your hearts, brothers, ask God in prayer to reveal what He wants to use them for and let Him guide you. There are things that God does not reveal clearly to us, but what is clear in the Bible is the great commission. Sometimes we want to do great works, so great! that we forget that what Christ commanded was simple and simple: preach the Gospel.
What do you think about "So busy and troubled ..."? We would love to hear from you.
