Balanced masculinity

Summary: Jesus was the perfect example of balanced masculinity, combining strength and tenderness. Christian men should strive to embody this balanced masculinity, which is needed in modern society. We are all wounded in our sexuality and need to continually submit ourselves to the Word of God to be healed and tuned back to His perfect balance of masculinity and femininity. God created men and women to express complementary aspects of His personality, and we need to continually listen to His key and refine ourselves to play in the perfect key of the Father.

I do not believe that there has been a more masculine being in the history of the universe than Jesus. I'm sure he was a manly man, but also tender. He could take the children and bless them and play with them, and welcome them, and the children were drawn to Him; and he could also rebuke a proud and pretentious Pharisee , and take a scourge and vigorously protest against the violation of the House of the Lord. He could speak the truth with total clarity, and announce the righteous judgment of God, and also say to an adulterous woman, “Go and sin no more. I don't condemn you either ”.

What an admirable balance! That's a masculine man, a tempered personality. I have always admired the character of Jesus for that balance, that balance that I always see in Him. For me that is true masculinity. I see it in the Father too. I see his love and tenderness, and then also that strength, that justice, that clarity that is in Him. Christian men have to try, and do everything possible to exemplify a balanced masculinity.

Modern society is desperately in need of men who embody, who exemplify a healed masculinity. Why do I say healed, and not merely "healed"? Because we are all in some measure or another wounded in our sexuality, and we have to submit ourselves to the Word of God continuously so that it goes, as with a piano out of tune, tuning ourselves again and putting ourselves in tune again with the tone of the Father and his perfect masculinity.

We have to be conformed back to his Self, which is neither male nor female, and which includes both the male and the female. We are men because God has a part that is related to masculine energy, and women are women because God has a part that is related to feminine energy. Man and woman project and express complementary aspects of the divine personality.

There is a music that God plays that resembles that of the woman, and a music that He plays that resembles that of the man. When God created Adam and Eve, He bequeathed a part of their total tonality to each. It was handed to him pure and crystal clear. But when we enter the world, the world goes out of tune little by little, like when a piano goes out of tune from use, and over time it needs to be tuned again.

We have to continually listen to the key of the Father, and refine ourselves over and over again using him as a reference point. We have to ask him to teach us to be men and women with the balance that he possesses. The Word of the Lord, as we listen to it and penetrate our life, being obedient to it, subjecting ourselves to it, refines us again. It is a lifelong process. Eventually we get out of tune again, and she tunes us back up.

We have to be continually listening to God's key as reflected in His Word, His perfect balance of masculinity and femininity, to help us to be well-tempered, well-tuned men and women, so that we can play exactly in the perfect key of the Dad.
