Summary: Christmas is a time to reflect on the blessings we have received, including God's word and the family He has given us. We must balance our obligations to God and our family, as we will be held accountable for how we cared for them. Christ showed us how to use our time and attention wisely, by praying, preaching, and loving others unconditionally. He gave us his time and love without expecting anything in return, and we should do the same for those around us. Caring for and protecting our family is embracing God's will and the provision He has given us at Christmas.
In these times when Christmas rejoices our hearts, as it reminds us of the birth of the Savior, we like to make an inventory of all the blessings we have received and of how much God has provided us so that nothing miss our life. Among the things that God provided us and perhaps one of the most important, is his word, which he bequeathed to us so that we know his will and make it known to others and ... home that God built for us with so much love?
God does not tell us that having Him the first place in our life means that the rest of the world ceases to be important to us, we must make a balanced balance of our obligations to the Lord who commands us to take care of the family we have created.
The first family, the one we create from the moment we get together as a couple, the one we are responsible for throughout our lives, the one we have to carry to the feet of our Lord and Creator, the one for which, the day we are in his presence, we will be questioned and we must think very well the answers from now on.
Let us think for a moment, what are we going to say when we are in his presence? We will say something like: -Sir, I did not have time to prepare my family because I needed to prepare myself for something in which I assumed you were going to use me. Why don't we realize that the first thing God wants to use us for is to bring our family to Him?
If we analyze the life of Christ, we can realize that he never gave anything material to anyone, but he filled us with spiritual riches. He gave us his time and his unconditional attention and without schedules, even today he continues to do so. Time and attention are two categories that if not used properly cause great disasters such as the destruction of marriages, friendships, and the derailment of children. However, the Bible is full of examples of how Christ put them to good use. He only used his time to pray and preach, since through the miracles he did he only did this, bear witness to our Father and give him glory.
He never expected us to love Him, He loved us.
He never expected us to give him our attention, we have his full attention whenever we need it.
He did not expect us to humble ourselves, He humbled himself.
He never expected anything in return and gave himself completely.
I have not read a single message that says: - "The crowds were disoriented and lost because the Lord needed all their time to read the Scriptures"
He was not like that, he never tired of talking and showing us the way, even though he was rejected by us. He gave us his time and his love without expecting anything in return and that is the best provision he gave us.
He showed us desperately that he loved us to the point of sacrifice, of the worst, of which it cost him pain, suffering and life itself. And do we still think we provide for our own? The time we give to others to help them know Christ. That is provision! The love that we give to those around us, that is provision!
Caring for and protecting the family that God has blessed us with is embracing the Christian faith and giving ourselves completely to God's will. Provision is what God gave us at Christmas, the Ancient of Days incarnated in a baby out of love for us.
What do you think about "Provision"? We would love to hear from you.
