Summary: This Christmas, if you feel like the prodigal son who wasted his inheritance and wants to return home, know that God is waiting for you with open arms. Don't let your apparent success or riches stop you from returning to Him. Remember the blessings He gave you and the love He has for you. Confess your sins and ask for His forgiveness. Christmas is about forgiveness and the love of Christ who was born, died, and rose again for us. Don't delay, Dad is waiting for you to come home. Merry Christmas!

If you have come until this Christmas feeling like the prodigal son when he wanted to know the world and wasted his inheritance, stop and listen. Dad is waiting for you! Can you believe it? Yes, that's why Christ was born there in Bethlehem and also, when He wanted it, in your heart. Do not hold back; there is wood in the fire of His home and He is already preparing the new clothes to cover you twice after the hug. There is a party in his heart for your return. His sadness vanished when he knew that you thought again of him, his care and the safe rest that he gave to your life while you remained by his side. What did you go around on your own and squander his blessings? Don't blame yourself so much. Think of his open arms and warm cheek the day you gave him the first filial kiss as a grateful child, happy for his presence in your life. He knows that deep in your heart, you have not forgotten him.

What's stopping you? The apparent success you enjoy without Him? Have your riches and assets reached with the many blessings that it once gave you? Don't the colored garlands on your Christmas tree let you see the Cross? Meditate just a little. Dad is waiting for you!

There are many prodigal sons out there, like ships without direction. They filled their pockets with blessings and left to travel the world, forgetting who filled them. After they ate pods from the pigs (Luke 15:17) and filled their stomachs with wreckage, He provides another opportunity. Dad is there, close. Sometimes he appears at the door because he senses your return, but he sits again in the portal of his forgiveness, girt with the hope of a new attempt of yours to return to his arms when he sees that you are not making the best decision. Why don't you call him again? Don't you remember that He knows your voice? It is Christmas, it is impossible that you have completely forgotten those Christmas carols that you sang as a child, the embrace of your brothers in church, the alms you gave to that beggar who crossed you and who reminded you of God's mercy, so close to our feelings in these Christmas times.

It's Christmas and Dad is coming back to see if you are coming. He doesn't want to have dinner without you, without first extending his forgiveness and re-blessing you and doubling down on his favors. It's Christmas and Dad wants to have all his children around his table. You no longer need to eat from the crumbs. Look at what our brother John says: “If we confess our sins, God, who is faithful and just, will forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1John 1: 9).

Christmas is forgiveness. I remind you that Christ was born, died and rose again. Those three events are the hymn He composed for you and me. "It is finished" was his cry of hope for each of us. He did it all on the Cross. He forgave us (Ephesians 1: 7), gave us justice for his shed blood (Romans 5: 9), reconciled us with the Father (2 Corinthians 5:19) and as if that were not enough, He gave us His life so that we can share ours. wholly with Him. All of this proceeds from the cross and is the wonderful meaning of this phrase. All of our debts were canceled. The Lord paid for them regardless of our sin. For all this, He can offer forgiveness to every sinner who wants to come to Him, and to every prodigal son who decided to seek luck apart from His love and today is consumed by an embrace from his God and does not decide to return to Him.

It's Christmas. Don't you see the star of Jesus guiding you back to the fold of soft pastures and rivers of honey? Do not delay my brother (a). Dad is waiting for you! This can be a different, memorable Christmas. Do not resist more. From this side of the world, a brother of yours will be celebrating your return. For nothing in my life I want to miss that party!

Merry Christmas!

God bless you!
