Summary: The woman with the issue of blood exemplifies the importance of an individual relationship with God. We should not be content with a collective mindset and a mediocre, conventional prayer. When we can individualize our life of worship, God does extraordinary things in our lives. This woman establishes an intimate, direct relationship with Jesus through her powerful faith, and the Lord cannot do anything but respond to her and unleash His healing power. Sometimes the Lord's response to our faith initiative will take a little time, but we have to be patient and believe that what the Lord has promised will be done if we ask in faith.
The intensity, the focus is what takes us out of the crowd. And it is something that we always have to ask God to help us find that distinctive form, that intimate, personal, individual relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
Many times we are content to simply be part of the crowd, of the crowd. The Gospel is full of people who are content with a collective mindset. We go to church on Sundays and we limit ourselves to a mediocre, lukewarm, conventional prayer and we believe that with that we have already fulfilled our commitment. And certainly God receives our sometimes indifferent, conventional worship. But what God likes the most is those believers who even say in the middle of a service where there is a crowd are there knowing that God is looking at them specifically.
When I go to a Church and I am part of a meeting and I am not officiating, I like to see myself as an individual being that even in the middle of the crowd I am in direct contact with the Lord, who is looking at me. and He is aware of my cry, my adoration, my dialogue with Him as well as with all those around me.
When we can individualize that life of worship then it is when God does extraordinary things in our life, when God listens, answers, opens doors, blesses, provides, and this woman exemplifies that. She approaches the Lord, touches him but with her faith and that faith is like a channel through which the blessing of the Lord then comes to her life.
How important it is that we are always seeking that individual dialogue with the Lord. The Lord does not respond very well to lukewarmness, the Lord does not respond very well to mass mentality. What the Lord is looking for is that person who is distinguished by something individual, something that takes him out of the pile and makes him distinctive.
When this woman touches the Lord's mantle she says that power came from Him. How interesting that the Lord was not there specifically responding to this woman's need but that her faith evoked power. That reminds us of the great power in the person of Jesus. It's like the Lord is a reservoir, a reservoir of power at that moment. The power is in Him whether he wants it or not, He embodies the healing power and what this woman does is like when one connects with a live electrical cable, that cable has no alternative but to release the power that is within it and can until we burn and destroy us completely.
But she touches the source of life that moves within Jesus, she puts her hand full of faith and touches, she says, the edge of His robe. It only takes a minimal contact with the Lord but full of faith and potential for the power of God to be unleashed within us. This woman establishes an intimate, direct relationship with the person of Jesus through her powerful faith and the Lord cannot do anything but respond to her and unleash His healing power.
And this woman, upon receiving that healing, says that her body shook and felt that the source, it is interesting the expression she uses, says that the source of her blood had dried up. The miracle that the Lord performs occurs at the very origins of his illness.
This is often the case. God is going to heal not the external part of the symptom but He is going to heal the place where the disease or poverty is emanating, or demonic oppression, or unemployment, or addiction, or whatever. Sometimes it will take time for the healing that the Lord wants to use to become real on the visible plane. Sometimes the Lord will go to the origin, to the root and then in time He will manifest himself on the symptomatic level.
I believe that what happened here was that the Lord closed as when one closes a water source, but there is still water running, perhaps this woman spent a day, two days with the flow of blood but the source of her illness was already closed . Sometimes the Lord's interventions are going to take a while to manifest, but they will have already occurred because the Lord will have gone to the origin, and then it will take time for them to occur in the natural plane.
As happened with the fig tree that the Lord cursed, that at the very moment it was not evident what the Lord had done but at the end of the day when the disciples returned they saw that the fig tree had dried up and they were surprised, why? because when the Lord cursed it, the life of that fig tree began to dry up immediately and with time then the effect became evident.
And so we have to remember many times that the Lord's response to our faith initiative will take a little time but that the Lord will have answered many times and it will be a matter of time for His healing to become fully effective and visible in our lives. So we have to be patient and believe that what the Lord has promised will be done if we ask in faith.
God continue to bless you, thank you for tuning in and we will have one last meditation to close our study of this fascinating woman, the woman with the issue of blood. Your friend in Christ, Pastor Roberto Miranda, says goodbye to you.
