We need to fight against this and keep our hearts impregnated with the heart of the Lord. Let us never lose the blessing of being intimately connected to Him and always stay in His presence.

Sometimes we ask ourselves why difficult things happen to us, but it is normal to try to find a way out of the problem. God allows trials in our lives because he loves us and has a perfect plan for us. We must remember that as children of God, we are taught through difficult situations and that all things work together for our good. We should be grateful for everything and trust that God is always in control.

The author's sister was diagnosed with a rare disease called Scleroderma and was given only a few years to live. The family prayed and fasted, asking God for mercy and healing. Despite attending a conference where they saw many people with disfiguring symptoms of the disease, the author felt a supernatural conviction that God would heal their sister. God promises to be with His children in every trial and difficulty they face. Just like He was with Daniel in the lion's den and with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace, God promises to be with us. Trials are opportunities for God to reveal Himself to us and show us His presence. As children of God, we need to be aware of His presence in our lives, especially during difficult times. We are never alone, God is always by our side.

Our earthly life is brief, and the years God lends us pass quickly. Therefore, we must not live in a slumber or cling to the world and its things, for all that has been created will perish. With eternity in our hearts, let us make the most of every minute to prepare ourselves, fulfill God’s will, and please Him during our time here. Although we do not know how much time this earth has left, we can root ourselves in the divine promises: whoever does the will of God remains forever, His Word will never pass away, and He will create new heavens and a new earth. Let us therefore live with an eternal perspective and not waste our existence.

Pain and grief can be so profound that we may feel God has abandoned us, even though he never leaves our side. After losing someone very dear to me, I experienced that apparent absence for the first time: I knew his promises, but suffering obscured his presence. Weeping and grieving in the face of death is entirely human; David, Abraham, and Jesus also expressed their sorrow. Yet we have the hope of seeing our loved ones again in the eternal dwelling place. Whatever valley we may be walking through, let us not take our eyes off God’s faithful promises: he knows our pain, remains near, and will never leave nor forsake us.

Let us not live bound to the past or repeat the disobedience of Lot’s wife, who looked back and lost her blessing. God no longer remembers our sins, so neither should we allow memories of them to torment us, hinder our present, or limit our future. Let us cast off that burden and move patiently toward what lies ahead. God can restore the years that were lost, and He has thoughts of peace and a future filled with blessings for us and our loved ones. In Christ, we are new creations: the old has passed away. From this day forward, let us walk with our heads held high, attentive to His promises and trusting fully in the Lord.
