The gradual process of our transformation

Dr. Roberto Miranda
(Audio: Spanish)

SUMMARY: Paul calls for believers to transform themselves, but this transformation is not something we can accomplish on our own. Rather, it is a process that occurs through the work of the Holy Spirit, drawing us closer to the character of Jesus Christ. The renewal of the mind is the key to this transformation, as it leads to a change in our understanding, attitudes, and interpretation of the world. We must put off the old man and be renewed in the spirit of our mind, putting on the attributes of the new man in Christ. This gradual process leads to a transformation that pleases God and enables us to live above the temptations of the world.

Paul calls us to transform ourselves. It must be clarified that the transformation of being, that total metamorphosis of which we spoke in our last meditation, the transformation of the believer, is not something that we operate through our own efforts, our own initiative; It is not that we transform ourselves but that we undergo a process that leads to our transformation.

Rather, the call to transform ourselves means: let yourselves be transformed and this transformation occurs as we always say through the work of the Holy Spirit working in us and drawing us closer and closer to the form and style and character of Jesus Christ.
