Is Jesus with you still?

Omar Soto
(Audio: Spanish)

SUMMARY: The speaker shares a story about his nephew running on the roof of a neighboring house and his mother jumping over a fence to chase after him, highlighting how one can assume someone is with them but they aren't. The speaker then turns to a passage in Luke 2:41-43 where Joseph and Mary assume Jesus is with them on their trip to Jerusalem, but they later realize He is missing. The speaker reflects on how sometimes in our lives, we assume that God is with us, but we don't make sure of His presence and company in our midst.

The sermon discusses the importance of recognizing Jesus in our lives and how he becomes a life resource that influences all dimensions of who we are: wisdom, stature, and grace before God and men. The passage of Joseph and Mary searching for Jesus emphasizes the need to have Jesus present at all times in our life journey. The speaker challenges the secular definition of success and defines it as staying true to the purpose of life in which God has us. He also emphasizes the importance of assuming our responsibility to pray and not hitchhiking in other people's prayers. The presence of Jesus complements and completes everything we are and do.

The speaker emphasizes the importance of intentionally seeking God's presence in every aspect of our lives, rather than assuming He is always with us. He encourages listeners to recognize God's presence even in moments of failure or stagnation, as these can be opportunities for growth and preparation for what's to come. The speaker also invites those who may have realized that Jesus is not present in their journey to bring Him back into their lives. The prayer concludes with a declaration of victory and blessings for all.

Father, I thank you for the opportunity you give me to be able to share your word today with my brothers and sisters. Lord, and just as it happened this morning, I also ask you now that this word come to life for each one of us. Please give me the strength I need to be here and share this message today. And Lord, that you be glorified in everything and that your word does not return empty but rather fulfills what you send it for today. May you be glorified above all things. Thank you Jesus. Amen.

Well, brothers, a few months ago I was talking to my mother, there in Puerto Rico, on the phone and she was telling me about one of her experiences with my youngest nephew by one year and a half. His name is Giorvani, not Giovanni, but Giorvani, I know that Puerto Ricans have something crazy about playing with names and they named my nephew Giorvani. So, my mother tells me that they were at my house there in Puerto Rico, and we live in a sector called town houses, they are like a row of three houses that are together and then after those three houses there is a space in the half, and then comes another row of 3 houses.
